Trams, trains and parking
M&C Loft is near the corner of Victoria and Brunswick Streets, about 2 km north-east of the city centre. Route 11 trams run along Brunswick Street, with the Johnston Street stop a couple of minutes' walk away, and they carry on through Fitzroy into the city. Route 86 runs along Smith Street, on the east side of the suburb. The nearest train station is Parliament, about 1.4 km away in a straight line. M&C Loft says there's street parking and day parking within about five minutes' walk, plus secure bike and e-scooter parking and a shower on the ground floor. The building has a long local history: Moran & Cato, the grocery chain that began on Brunswick Street in 1880, had its headquarters and warehouses on this stretch of Victoria Street in the early 1900s, and M&C Loft takes its name from it.
