A tram engine house from 1891
This building opened in 1891 as the Windsor Cable Tram Engine House, and it still looks the part: a white-washed industrial space with very high ceilings and plenty of natural light, plus a sunlit courtyard. Three meeting rooms are on CoHub. The Bunker is a private 10 sqm room for up to 4, set beneath arched windows. The Francis Clapp Room, named after the businessman who brought trams to Melbourne, is 16 sqm and takes up to 8. The Boardroom is the big one at 32 sqm, with a large table for up to 14 and space for a workshop or strategy day. Each has a presentation screen, and Engine House lists a whiteboard, tea and coffee too. If you only need a desk, the day pass covers the business lounge, cafe and hot desks. Memberships and private offices are arranged with Engine House directly.
Train, trams and parking
Engine House puts Windsor station and Chapel Street at a 6-minute walk, and the site is surrounded by tram stops. Flinders Street station is about 5 km away in a straight line, so the train is a simple trip from the city. If you drive, Engine House says there's free on-street parking around the building, though it's worth checking the signs and allowing a few minutes to find a spot. There's also undercover bicycle parking. The day pass runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm, and those are also the staffed hours, so mention any earlier or later start in your booking request.
